Dear Bajra Family, we all know that Bajra Technologies has carved a niche for itself in the Software market in Nepal. The name is synonymous with quality and agility. For the past few years, Bajra has flirted with the idea of homegrown hardware products. In 2020 Bajra formally ventured into the hardware domain with the vision of delivering innovative smart solutions and green technologies for a better life. The name of this new journey is aptly named Bajra Hardware Solutions.
The technological disparity
Our world has been going through a technological revolution. Life has become simpler and safer with innovations and rapid application of the latest technologies in various fields. However, still millions of people from developing countries are yet to reap the benefits of new technologies. This boils down to two things, affordability and accessibility. The technological advancements made mostly in the West, the “Developed Nations”, are either too expensive or inaccessible to the general public of the developing countries like Nepal.
Ultrasonography, a common technique for clinical diagnosis, is available at most hospitals and clinics in developed countries. However, many would-be mothers die every year in developing countries like Nepal due to the lack of ultrasound machines in remote villages. Most of these deaths could have been prevented if the village health posts or midwives had access to affordable ultrasound devices. It is just the tip of the iceberg.
The inaccessibility and unaffordability of many technologies impact our day-to-day lives in different ways. The technological revolution will be truly successful when technology reaches far and wide in every nook and corner of the developing world and positively impacts the lives of inhabitants. Therefore, the answer lies in the development of homegrown technologies designed and specially tailored to meet the requirements of people of developing countries, which are, consequently, both affordable and accessible to them.
The quest
There is a wide array of problems facing humanity today. We cannot solve them all, but we can make a difference with the right technological solutions.
Our fundamental quest is to build homegrown affordable smart devices and products using green technologies which will have a positive impact on the lives of consumers in the developing world. We aim to manufacture affordable smart medical devices locally, which will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of myriad health problems and save lives in low-income countries like Nepal. Similarly, we intend to produce cost-effective innovative smart home solutions in Nepal.
Further, we aspire for a clean and green environment, therefore we plan to reduce air pollution with our budget-friendly next generation of electric vehicles and make our cities more breathable. Customer satisfaction is our primary objective and we will provide our customers the best experience. Our local presence will facilitate better customer support and easy availability of replacement parts. It will aid in providing our customers with timely servicing and maintenance, and above all, reliability.
Our work
Our hardware solutions are not just about hardware. We will leverage our proven expertise in software and blend it with hardware to produce smart devices. We are currently pursuing two projects. 1. BajraMED (A portable ECG device) 2. BajraLOCUS (A low-cost handheld ultrasound device).
