Bajra Weekly #32: Lockdown and Work from Home Story
Namaste and welcome back after more than a year. Lots of things happened this year. We shifted from the office to work from home. And the world has gone several ups and downs due to covid 19. Here, I am going to share some interesting things that happened during the lockdown and work from home from the beginning of the pandemic.
Worried of Lock-down
From the end of March 2020, Nepal was going for a complete lockdown, and this was a new thing for all of us. Prepsa was shocked by the news. She was worried that she may not be allowed to buy the Chips. Sandesh Dai was also in a hurry to buy current noodles.
The days went on and later we were used to the words quarantine, isolation, lockdown. The lockdown was extended for almost 4 months. Initially, all of us were excited to work from home but with time, many were bored staying in front of the computer all day in a corner of the room.
Virtual Party
The office realized that all of us were missing the team lunch so Bajra gave us a surprise by sending a Valley Express Chicken Bucket to everyone.
Kudos to our Director Ankur Maharjan dai who developed this online Bingo game within a day and thanks to Smile and Sandesh dai for organizing it.
Office Resumed
After several months, we partially resumed our office maintaining Covid-19 security protocols, but not everyone was present at the office due to the ongoing situation. The days were interesting as some running projects got deployed to the client, some new client projects came and some new products were cooking. After the situation was under control, we organized a get-together party in the New year 2021. All of us got to meet each other physically after so long.
The office was going well and several new ones were being hired including Developers and Interns. Bajra was growing and we were welcoming every new member to our family. Bajra got involved in the Launchpad job fair at Radisson Hotel.
Effect of the second wave of Covid, Work from home again
The effect of the second wave of Covid-19 started seeing as new variants started spreading in Nepal and one of our team members got infected. As soon as we got a notice about him being positive to Covid-19 on April 19, we again closed the office and migrated to work from home from April 20. All of our members have done PCR tests and some with symptoms stayed in isolation. We wish for good health for those who are still fighting against this deadly coronavirus.
Though we are physically not available at the office, we can be connected any time through our virtual office.
