Uniting Through Play: Bajra Trainee’s Monthly Event
Between work and responsibilities, we also need fun and refreshments. This need was met by our Monthly Trainee Event, where all trainees from the current batch came together for a well-deserved celebration after a rigorous month.
Initiated by Project Management Trainees, the event was a blend of fun, collaboration, and team bonding; featuring games like Mafia and Carrot-in-the-Box.
The Plan: Team Unity
We wanted to make sure the overall task of building bonds between all members was fun yet rewarding through this event.
The activities and format for the event were selected based on these objectives, with inspiration drawn from YouTube and movie clips.
Behind the Scenes: Logistics and Preparation
Behind every successful event lies meticulous planning and seamless execution. The logistical arrangements for the event included obtaining terrace permission and procuring game logistical equipment, food, drinks, and gifts. Snacks and gifts were sourced from the local market, ensuring all necessary resources were available and in place before the event.
Navigating Challenges: Teamwork in Troubled Waters
In the phase of event preparation, unexpected challenges can appear. We also faced the unexpected challenge of a Trainee Experience Meeting coinciding with our planning meeting.
However, with effective communication and adaptability, we managed to navigate and schedule around them. The team addressed this by sharing updates and viewpoints, ensuring a comprehensive planning process.
Nurturing Participation & Cultivating Enthusiasm
Encouraging participation from all trainees was a key focus, ensuring an inclusive and engaging experience for all.
The standout moments of the event were witnessed during the Mafia game, where teams displayed remarkable communication prowess by silently working together to eliminate civilians, illustrating seamless non-verbal coordination and shared goal achievement.
Equally captivating was the need for team members to cultivate trust through strategic pursuits, underscoring the importance of interpersonal skills in the game.
Moreover, the strategic maneuver known as the “carrot in the box” emerged as a captivating highlight, allowing players to delve deep into each other’s psyche through intricate mind games.
Through these games, we realized that the best part wasn’t winning, but the friendships we built along the way.
Reflections and Revelations: General Feedback
On a scale of 1 to 10, the overall success of the event was rated between 7 and 8. The games themselves and post-game discussions were identified as the most effective aspects in promoting team building among the trainees.
While the event was a success, there were areas identified for improvement. Following the process was something that could have been improved in the previous iteration. This feedback was taken into account, and the process was followed in the subsequent month’s event.
In conclusion, this month’s Trainee Event was not just an event, but a platform for learning, bonding, and growing as a team. It was a testament to the spirit of collaboration and the joy of shared experiences.
